Cotyledon orbiculata var. oblonga is a succulent plant that branches from ground level, forming large clumps. Laves are variable in shape, glabrous or hairy, and silvery-white to pale grey-green. Flowers are orange, rarely yellow, tubular, up 1.4 inches (3.5 cm) long, 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) in diameter, and appear on up to 18 inches (45 cm) tall stalks from winter to spring.
