Native to the Maluti mountains of Lesotho, the Aloe polyphylla thrives in mineral-rich soils and snowy winters, and it is also the national plant of Lesotho. Unlike many succulents, the Spiral Aloe is quite thirsty and hungry, requiring more frequent watering and feeding during its growing season. It needs plenty of air around its roots, but overwatering can lead to rot, so good drainage is crucial.
